Privacy Policy
Last updated 30 September 2026
This is the policy of The Style Lab, the platform behind Arava — your account, your fit profile and your saved card are held by the platform so they work across every brand you shop.
The Style Lab is a platform that stylists use to fit, plan and order made-to-order clothing for their clients. Doing that well means holding some unusually personal information — your measurements, sometimes a photograph — so this explains exactly what we keep, why, and who can see it.
Who we are
The Style Lab, LLC (“Style Lab”, “we”) operates the platform at thestylelab.app and the brand storefronts built on it. We are a Minnesota limited liability company.
When you buy a garment, the brand whose storefront you ordered from is the seller and the merchant of record — it takes your payment and fulfils your order. Style Lab provides the software both you and your stylist use.
What we collect
Account and contact details — your name, email address, phone number and shipping address.
Fit information — body measurements, size and fit preferences, and any standing adjustments (for example, a preferred sleeve length). If you use a body scan, the resulting measurements are stored against your profile.
Photographs, if you provide one — a photograph may be used to produce a personal color analysis. To do that, the photograph is sent to Anthropic, whose Claude models perform the analysis and return a color profile. Anthropic processes it on our instructions and does not use it to train its models. We store the photograph privately, and it is never published or shown to other clients. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Preferences and notes — colors and fabrics you like or dislike, and notes your stylist keeps to serve you better.
Order history — what you ordered, in what size and fabric, and its status.
Payment details — handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep only what is needed to show you which card is on file: the brand, the last four digits and the expiry.
Technical information, briefly — when you request a sign-in link, or send us the form asking to be paired with a stylist, we record the internet (IP) address the request came from. We use it for one thing: to limit how many times the same address can do either in an hour, so the forms cannot be used to flood a stylist or to guess at whether an email address has an account. Sign-in records are deleted after a day, and the address on a stylist request is erased after 30 days. We do not use any of it to track you, build a profile, or advertise.
Why we collect it
To make clothing that fits you, to let your stylist advise you properly, to process and deliver your orders, and to contact you about them. A small amount — the technical information above — exists only to keep the platform secure and to stop our forms being abused. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Your stylist. The person you work with sees your profile — fit, color, preferences, notes and order history. That is the point of the service.
The brand you order from, and the workshop that makes it. A brand sees what it needs to make and ship your order: the garments, the measurements they are cut to, and your delivery address. The workshop making your garment sees less — an order number, the pattern, and a shortened form of your name such as “Sarah J.”, enough to keep two pieces apart on a bench. Patterns themselves carry measurements, not identity.
Service providers. We use Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Anthropic for color analysis, and Supabase and Vercel for hosting and data storage. They process data on our instructions.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of people using the platform.
Working across brands
Your account belongs to the platform rather than to any one brand, so you can work with a stylist across several brands without repeating your measurements or re-entering a card. A brand sees the information relevant to what you order from it — not your history with another brand.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct anything that is wrong, or delete your information. Some records — completed orders, for instance — may need to be kept for tax and accounting purposes.
You can ask us to delete a photograph at any time without affecting the rest of your profile, and you can opt out of marketing email while still receiving messages about orders you have placed.
Write to contact@thestylelab.app and we will respond.
How long we keep it
Your profile — measurements, preferences and order history — stays while your account is open, because it is what lets your stylist pick up where you left off. Completed orders are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, even if you close your account.
The short-lived items are shorter: sign-in records are deleted after a day, the internet address on a stylist request after 30 days, and a link you were sent to add a card or view a selection stops working within days of being sent. A photograph you gave us for color analysis is kept until you ask us to delete it.
Keeping it safe
Access is restricted to your stylist and to staff who need it. Photographs are held in private storage and served only through short-lived links. Payment credentials stay with Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we hold and who can reach it.
Accounts and younger clients
Accounts are held by adults. A parent or guardian may order for someone under 18 — in that case the adult holds the account, provides the measurements and any photograph, and is responsible for the order.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and we will tell you directly if the change materially affects how your information is used.
